In the South of France, there are of course, sunny and warm weather, beaches, beautiful landscapes located on the seaside or in the countryside – Verdon Gorges, Ventoux, Luberon, Canal du Midi – but also lovely and picturesque villages and historically rich cities as Carcassonne or Arles.

Then, at the South of this part – in the Alpes Maritimes – there are numerous beach resorts on the French Riviera like Nice, Antibes, Cannes, St Laurent du Var or Menton. There, tourists will enjoy beaches (pebbles and sand) and the Mediterranean. Tourists should book a holiday rental in the area as an accommodation Antibes. There, tourists will find many pleasant beach resorts as St Raphael, Frejus, Port Grimaud, St Tropez, Le Lavandou, Hyères, Bandol, Sanary and others. Tourists could book a self-catering accommodation in St Raphael. In this area, beaches are bigger than in the Alpes Maritimes.
In the Bouches-du-Rhône department, one should enjoy the calanques ( wonderful inlets) located in Cassis near Marseille and La Ciotat. Moreover, tourists should go to Aix-en-Provence and to the Luberon and Alpilles areas. Then, one should visit Provence with picturesque villages as Gordes. Furthermore, there are various specialities in Provence as e.g. olive oil or Cavaillon melon. So to spend holidays in this area, tourists should rent an accommodation in Provence.
There are several Roman monuments in the South of France as the Pont du Gard, amphitheatre in Arles and Nîmes and a Roman theatre in Orange.
