Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur holiday idea by Genius Holiday, holidays Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

Holiday homes in PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur): southern France between sea and mountains

Rent a holiday home in PACA to discover this region, made up of 6 departments: The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, les Alpes-Maritimes, les Bouches-du-Rhône, les Hautes Alpes, le Var and le Vaucluse. Three of these are located on the coastline. The surrounding inland is more nature-orientated, for example the holiday home rentals in Provence Verte, where you could spend your holidays between the Mediterranean sea and the Verdon gorges, or those of Luberon, where you can discover the little perched villages of Provence, or perhaps on a bigger scale you could go to Provence itself, making the most of the hot climate of southern France. The region offers various accommodation options in PACA, amongst which you will find holiday homes with swimming pools or holiday apartments.

Holiday home rentals in PACA's countryside

Department number 4 is mountainous and hardly industrialized. It has expanded thanks to the creation of large reservoirs, attracting many holiday makers. There are many towns to discover here, such as Digne-les-Bains and the valleys of le Bès and l'Asse, Durance valley, Monasque, Forcalquier, Lure mountain, Ubaye valley and the towns of Barcelonnette and the ski station of Pra-Loup, the Allos valley with its Mercantour national park and the pretty villages of Annot and Entrevaux and Verdon with its gorges and lakes where various activities are available. For more nature and walking based holidays, consider a cottage in the Alpilles to visit Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Eygalières, the Baux de Provence and the Baux valley. The surrounding inland area is also worth discovering, with its perched villages, lakes and forests. Vineyards dominate the interior of these lands, with Côtes-de-Provence and its rosé wine that is famous throughout southern France. Vaucluse's most imporant towns are Avignon and the city of Papes, Apt and the the country of candied fruit, Cavaillon and its melon, Carpentras and its berlingot and Orange and its beautiful monuments. In the High Vaucluse, the laces of Montmirail (Beaumes-de-Venise, Gigondas, Séguret...) and Vaison la Romaine are worth discovering. Seasonal holiday homes around the laces of Montmirail are rentable in the week.
